This painting was done for the Friends of the Woodland Park Zoo Elephants (part of the Northwest Animal Rights Network) who are working to help the elephants there get to a sanctuary where they will have more room to roam. Their zoo habitat is smaller than elephants need and this leads to foot and other problems. Zoo elephants die much earlier than their counterparts in the wild.
After years of working as a graphic designer, I am retired and am doing what I love to do, enjoying life in the Sacramento, CA area. My heart has always been with animals and I have always been a mom to my rescue dogs. I also go to the Capital to speak for bills involving animal rights when they come up.
